10 hours of In-Car lessons are the minimum requirement by Ministry of Transportation for the full course. Whether the mandatory 10 hours are sufficient enough depends on the learning skills of each driver as an individual. If you feel the ten hours were not enough, we also offer additional individual driving lessons as well as packages. Your instructor can tell you about your progress as you go along, if you wish to purchase additional hours you can call our office anytime.
Yes, you can join our 4-Day courses any weekday or weekend. Just call our office and we can let you know what day's classes are running.
Not at all, we at Top Star driving school give you the option of doing your classes and in-car lessons along side each other or you may begin your in-car lessons after completing the classes. It’s all your choice!
If you take any of our MTO-Approved courses, you can take your test after waiting a minimum of 8 months from date of license issue. Otherwise you must wait a minimum of 1 year.
You must complete the course within 1 year of your starting date as per MTO Standards.
Once you have completed and met all of the MTO requirements, Top Star Driving School will process your certificate with the MTO. Once you have checked the 'check certificate' page on our website 2 weeks after your last In-car lesson, and it says 'successful'. In accordance with Ontario, the MTO doesn't allow driving schools to give paper copies of certificates as of 2008, the student acquiring their DLH must visit Service Ontario on their own behalf: https://www.ontario.ca/page/get-driving-record#section-5
A student can walk into any Service Ontario, or visit online, and request a Drivers Licence History (DLH), to then present to your insurance company as proof of having completed a BDE course with an MTO-Approved driving school.

You can either visit www.drivetest.ca or call the automated system at 647-776-0331 and book your road test. If you are choosing to use the instructors car for your road test then the instructor will book your road test for you!

At Top Star, we aim to provide the best learning experience for our students. We understand that sometimes, plans change or circumstances arise that might prevent a student from completing their lessons.
Eligibility for Refunds: Full course packages are eligible for a refund within 30 days of purchase, as long as no component of the course (in-person learning, online learning, or in-car lessons) have been started. However no refunds are available once any component of the course mentioned previously has started. The $50 registration fee is non-refundable. Private lesson students are not entitled to a full refund, only what is applicable based upon our Policy Form. Top Star Driving reserves the right to refuse any refunds based upon abuse/harassment/misconduct, or misuse of services, and policy form towards any staff members, including instructors.
Requesting a Refund: To request a refund, students must contact our customer service team at info@topstardriving.com. If a refund request is submitted after it has been 1 year since starting the course, the course is non-refundable.
Processing Time: Upon receiving a refund request, we will review it and process refunds within 5-10 business days. The amount will be credited to the original payment method used during booking.
Non-refundable Expenses: Please note that any delivered lessons, administrative or processing fees associated with the booking may be deducted from the refundable amount.
